Chile highly depends on energy imports. Under these circumstances, the introduction of clean and renewable energies and the promotion of energy efficiency make up essential tools in for an energy policy.

One of the most important new issues is Law No. 20.257 of March 2008, which introduces amendments to the general law on electric services regarding the generation of electric power with non-conventional renewable energies.

Polygeneration and solar thermal technologies applied to the various sectors will provide an efficient use of energy. The TECH4CDM Project will focus on these two technologies.

The local partner is Chile’s National Commission of Energy (CNE)
