The main objective of the project TECH4CDM is to promote the renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies in five Latin American countries and to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the Clean Development Mechanisms (CDM) to foster these technologies in the selected countries.

 

Specific objectives

 

  • To promote the wind, solar thermal, cogeneration and solar photovoltaic technologies for rural electrification in five Latin American countries: Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru.
  • To optimize the opportunities provided by the clean development mechanisms (CDM) for these technologies in Latin America.
  • To identify potential projects, at small and large scale, in order to facilitate the investments of the European promoters and companies in the region.

 


Results

 

The results foreseen within this project are:

  • 4 reports on the analysis of the key factors of each technology in the five selected countries.
  • 12 training workshops on the technological aspects.
  • 5 training workshops on CDM.
  • 5 high level seminars
  • 1 case study compilation with technical and financial analysis.
  • 4 guidelines for the development of CDM projects.
  • 1 publication on the technologies and projects of CDM in Latin America.
